401(K)
To help ensure your future financial success, HUI offers a competitive 401(k) plan. You are eligible for enrollment within the first 6 months of employment. If you already have money in a 401(k) from a previous employer, you can roll that into HUI’s 401(k) at any time.
Scholarship Program
Dependents of HUI team members are offered scholarships to be used towards post high school education. Any of your dependents continuing their education after high school will receive a $1,000 scholarship from HUI. In addition, a competitive scholarship of $2,000 per year is awarded to one high school graduate of an HUI team member every year.
Insurance
HUI provides comprehensive major medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a prescription drug program, for all full-time team members and their families. Coverage in the plan is effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
As a full-time HUI team member, you are provided with life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage. Coverage in the plan is effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
Compensation
HUI’s compensation program is designed to pay all team members for the value of the competencies and capabilities each individual brings to their job. How well you deliver your value directly contributes to the overall performance of the team.
Short & Long-Term Disability Coverage
Disability coverage is provided for all full-time HUI team members. This coverage is designed to provide you with both short-term and long-term compensation in the event you should find yourself unable to work due to an illness or injury.
Safety Record and Work Environment
We are proud of our safety record and do everything necessary to ensure a safe working environment for all team members. HUI has a volunteer safety team that helps create and implement various safety processes and procedures. Every year HUI provides safety compliance training to all of our employees. To ensure that a comfortable environment exists for all team members, HUI installed air conditioning, which will keep the entire plant cool during those hot summer months.
Fitness Center
All team members and their families may use the on-site fitness center. This 2,000 sq. ft. facility includes a complete set of free weights, weight machines, stair masters, exercise bikes, and treadmills.
Educational Assistance
HUI offers educational assistance if you choose to further your education. We will pay the full cost of courses related to your job at HUI. If you choose coursework that is unrelated to your job you will still receive a small contribution towards your education.
Career Path Planning
To help you accomplish whatever career goals you may have, HUI has created a personal development process. This process will allow you to experience different jobs that exist at HUI and help you obtain the necessary skills and experience required to be successful in those positions. HUI has an open invitation for those who would like to come and job shadow any position within our company.
HUI Training Program
HUI has internal training capabilities. We have created and implemented a first-class weld training program that is designed towards training experienced welders as well as those who have never welded before. We have also redesigned and standardized all of our training processes across the company. Outside of the core competency training, HUI also provides employees with training in Quality, Lean, Safety, Computer, Problem Solving, Crucial Conversations, Group Dynamics, Listening and Communicating, and more!
EAP (Employee Assistance Program)
HUI offers an Employee Assistance Program through the Sheboygan Aurora Clinic to help our employees with any marital, alcohol, drug, financial, legal, or other problems they may experience. The program provides assessments, short-term counseling, and referrals. The initial meeting with EAP is free and additional meetings or referrals to specialists are usually covered under our health insurance program.
Community Service Matching
HUI encourages all team members to take an active role in their community. HUI also supports the Big Brother Big, Sister program and the Junior Achievements program in the Kiel area. Both programs are volunteer programs in which we enable all employees to participate.
Vacation
HUI initially provides two days of vacation after your 90-day review. After the review, each employee would receive an additional two to five days of vacation, depending on their hire date. Starting with your second full year at HUI, your vacation will start to accumulate each year thereafter. In addition to these vacation hours, HUI observes ten paid holidays each year.
Recreation
Each year, HUI has summer and winter outings for team members and their guests. If you are interested in sports, there is an annual bowling party and a golf outing. You are also welcome to participate in HUI-sponsored teams, such as trap shooting, softball, and basketball. If you choose to be a spectator, you can enter periodic drawings to win tickets for home games to a wide variety of sporting events.
