Third Shift Maintenance Technician Description

HUI’s Maintenance personnel are responsible for repairing equipment, maintaining the facility, and performing preventative maintenance on our equipment. There will be times when this person will need work with outside contractors or equipment service technicians to repair or service our equipment and or facility.  As a member of the HUI Team, this individual will work on a variety of different projects, ranging from complex pieces of equipment all the way to changing light bulbs. This person needs to be flexible and willing to cross train in many different areas. Scheduling and coordinating is the key to success in getting equipment maintained or repaired; this person will need to be able to communicate and educate effectively, but also keep an open mind to the needs and success of the business. There will be times when maintenance personnel need to be called in during off-duty hours. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager.

This position’s duties include, but are not limited, to:

  • Ability to do PM and repairs on various production and facility equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical and hydraulic problems
  • Respond and communicate with employees from all levels of the organization
  • Perform and comply with OSHA Safety Regulations such as Lock Out Tag Out and Arch Flash requirements
  • Be capable of ordering necessary parts for repairs while maintaining a budget
  • Must be comfortable asking questions of anyone within the organization
  • Capable of spotting potential safety hazards
  • Be able to prioritize
  • Must be a team player
  • Must have a flexible work schedule
  • Must be flexible to help out in production when needed

Position Requirements:

  • Mechanically Inclined
  • Welding experience (preferred)
  • Understands basic electrical and hydraulics
  • Ability to network and do internet research
  • Must follow procedures and coach others who don’t
  • Commitment to obtain an Industrial Maintenance Degree upon hire
  • Be on call for other shifts or backing up other maintenance team members
  • Must be an active member of HUI’s Safety Team
