Kiel, Wisconsin – Ashton Thuecks was recently selected by an external advisory group to be the recipient of HUI Manufacturing’s Allan Arnold Scholarship Award – a program that will pay out $500 each Fall and Spring semester towards the pursuit of a degree. The award allows the recipients to receive a maximum of $2,000 towards an associate’s degree, or $4,000 towards a bachelor’s degree.

To be considered for the Allan Arnold Scholarship, candidates must meet a series of eligibility criteria. First, the student must be a high school senior with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Second, the student must be a dependent of a current HUI employee. Finally, the student must exemplify the traits of Mr. Arnold.

When asked about Allan Arnold, HUI President Tim Jandrey stated “Allan Arnold was a model employee at HUI for over twenty years – he embodied the traits of being helpful, loyal, hardworking, and honest. Sadly, he passed away from cancer and we offer the Allan Arnold Scholarship to honor his legacy.”

Based on his application, Ashton embodies the traits of Mr. Arnold. His hard work in school has helped him earn an invitation to be a part of the National Honors Society. He will also graduate Cum Laude and with High Honors.

Ashton is noted as being honest with his family and helpful with his siblings. He also tutors math and volunteers at an array of community events.

In addition to his performance in school, at home, and in the community, Ashton works at Schwartz Supper Club and hopes to pursue a degree in business, with an emphasis on accounting.

Ashton is an all-around good kid and we are very proud. He's smart, motivated, goal-oriented, and always honest with us. He has a plan for his future, and we're excited to watch him get started” stated his father Steve.

Eligibility for the Al Arnold scholarship is limited to dependent children of HUI Employees or students at Kiel HS. Applications are available at any time, but due back by March 15th each year.
