Join us in a big HUI Manufacturing welcome to Matt Pekarske,
our new Industrial Engineer!

Matt joined our operations team at the beginning of June with the mission to be the point person for all things continuous improvement on our shop floor. This young engineer will be leading our lean meetings, providing resources and insights to our cells and lean points, implementing process improvements, and calculating cost savings for new initiatives.

Matt graduated this spring from UW-Platteville with a degree in Industrial Engineering. Some of the coursework he completed that will be especially helpful in this role are studies in continuous improvement, warehousing, and material handling, and even a facility layout and design course. The latter will be of special import to one of Matt’s first tasks: a major redesign of our paint line and assembly area with a focus on ergonomics and efficiency.

Matt chose to major in Industrial Engineering because he feels it’s the “people and processes” side of engineering -- perfect for a self-described “people person”! It’s also very useful and applicable across a broad range of industries and roles. “I’m looking forward to getting to know the team at HUI Manufacturing and helping them become leaner with the continuous improvement initiatives I’ll be working on,” Matt notes.

Matt hails from the Valders area and is a graduate of Valders High School. He loves to golf, hike, and hang out with his best pal... his border collie, Anya.

Welcome from everyone at HUI Manufacturing... we're so excited to have you join us!
